Community College

Community Colleges have a lot of options for students, such as 2 year (Associates) degree programs, certificate programs, as well as comprehensive programs which lead to licensure (Registered Nurse program).  Students also have the option of transferring to a 4-year college or univerisity.  Visit the LA Community College Website.

There are no entrance requirements (no SAT/ACT tests), however students will have to take math and English placement tests before taking these subjects at the college level.

www.assist.org:  ASSIST is an online student-transfer information system that shows how course credits earned at one public California college or university can be applied when transferred to another. Learn about IGETC, Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum.  Students can also explore the different UC and CSU campuses and the majors they offer at each campus.

Pierce College Extended Opportunity Program & Services (EOPS)

EOP&S is a state funded support program that is designed to assist qualified low-income and educationally disadvantaged students complete their college goals with the assistance of financial and support services.

The EOP&S program includes the following services:

  • Academic and career counseling
  • Free tutoring
  • Transfer assistance
  • University fee waivers
  • Priority registration

Pierce College Representative Weekly Visits
